Advanced Resucitation Training

Advanced Resucitation Training

The Advanced Resuscitation Training (ART) program was developed at UC San Diego and in Southern California air and ground EMS agencies as a mechanism to improve resuscitation/critical care performance and outcomes and reduce preventable death.  The hospital program is focused on training for the code blue and rapid response teams, with heavy input from the air medical provider curriculum.  Nurse training is a blend of arrest and arrest prevention, adapted to the patient type and level of monitoring.  Physician training includes critical care physicians, cardiologists, emergency physicians, hospitalists, and anesthesiologists.  Outcomes have been remarkably consistent, with arrest survival predictably doubling and arrest incidence cut in half.

We have also developed a curriculum that is adaptable to your specific environment. For example, we have developed a class structure for Critical Access Hospitals that includes combined training for providers, nurses and EMS all working and training together.
